Blowing Kisses in the Wind

I am blogging from C-U, we made it home safe and sound. And I have managed to get pictures to post... I think the problem was with the hotel internet connection.

Anyway, Saturday was packed up the van (aka Pete) and went to practice one more time. Marty Mason asked us if Franklin liked his shirts and wished us a safe trip home. We told him that he and his pen were going to miss us.

We went to Port St. Lucie to see the game against the Mets. As Frankie walked out to the bullpen we all yelled "Franklin" and waved at him (we had told him the day before that we were headed home after Saturday's game). We were too far away to really have a conversation, but he blew us kisses instead. It was awesome, and very much amused the Cardinal couple standing near us. The Cards got it going and won 10-3 with Adam Wainwright beating Johan Santana... sweet. Frankie closed out the 9th inning and got the save... we cheered very loudly for our new buddy.

We hit the road right after the game, and made it to Marietta about 1 a.m. We left there this morning and got to C-U just after 4 p.m. It was a great trip, four girls managed to share one bathroom without incident and I think we made lots of great memories... for both ourselves and the bullpen! I am very much looking forward to sleeping in my own bed

I'm so sorry y'all had to come back to reality. It isn't nearly so nice as spring break!
